Billed as a ‘theatrical evening out aboard the Titanic,’ Café Fish takes its nautical theme seriously. The restaurant houses the hull of a ship and even the space is subdivided into areas with different personalities. The brasserie area for non-smokers is classic and refined, whilst just around the corner the smokers’ space is rustic and relaxed. The food, regardless of nicotine consumption, is classic, uncomplicated and of course, marine in nature. The quality of their fish and chips is a house boast, but Café Fish also serves up dramatic seafood platters and decadent specials. A cover charge for bread and paté bumps the bill up a couple of notches. The atmosphere changes as the night sails onwards. Pre-theatre dining is exciting, dinner is relaxed and post-theatre is comfortable. However, a live pianist plays every Monday to Saturday from 6pm to 10pm and his or her choice of music can influence the mood of the evening.
